Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, the Army officer who was fired from the National Security Council after testifying in President Donald Trump’s impeachment trial, wasn’t the only one escorted from the White House on Friday.

Gordon Sondland, the US’s ambassador to the EU, became the second impeachment witness to be fired on Friday. 

Sondland was ousted not long after Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, another crucial witness to President Donald Trump’s Ukraine dealings, was abruptly fired and escorted from the White House. 

Alexander Vindman was the Ukraine expert for the NSC while Yevgeny Vindman was a senior lawyer & ethics official for the council. Both are decorated Army officers.

His twin brother, Army Lt. Col. Yevgeny Vindman, was also escorted off White House grounds at the same time & apparently dismissed from his post at the National Security Council.

Federal employees have rights, including under the whistle-blower law, that ensure they are protected through the inspector general offices and are able to provide information to Congress, as part of the legislative branch’s oversight role.

The White House has stood by the dismissals.

President Trump has been acquitted on both charges of abuse of power and obstruction of justice in a vote that was largely anticipated following a weeks-long Senate impeachment trial. Trump is the third president in U.S. history to face impeachment. Utah Sen. Mitt Romney was the only Republican to cross party lines with his vote to convict Trump of abuse of power. The Constitution requires votes from two-thirds of present senators to convict a sitting president.

The two articles, approved last Friday by the House Judiciary Committee, charge Trump with abuse of power and obstructing Congress.

President Donald Trump accepted an invitation from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to deliver his annual State of the Union address to a joint meeting of Congress, two days after she oversaw his impeachment. The Feb. 4 speech may fall in the middle of Trump’s Senate trial for alleged high crimes and misdemeanors, or it may give Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell extra incentive to wrap up the proceedings.

Pelosi’s invitation translates the political reality that the chances Trump will not be removed from office by the Republican-controlled Senate.

At the end of the speech, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi tore up her copy of the speech. Pelosi defended her actions, saying “He shredded the truth, so I shredded his speech. What we heard last night was a disgrace.” Pelosi elaborated that “it was a courteous thing to do considering the alternatives. It was such a dirty speech,” The White House responded on Twitter saying that, by tearing up the speech, Pelosi “ripped up” a remaining survivor of Tuskegee Airmen, a premature birth survival, a service member family reunion, and mourning of families, stating, “That’s her legacy.” Source: 2020 State of the Union Address

In a scathing letter to Pelosi on Tuesday, Trump said that “do-nothing” Democrats were committing an unconstitutional abuse of power in impeaching him.

America does not remained only deeply divided given the variation par regions and states of political affinity or ideological orientation only, America is actually more disoriented in regards to the role and the effectiveness of the political system in place, especially the politicians that are not given full consideration to the real problems and challenges facing everyday the American Society during this time when information run faster than the train of life.

The United States is torn a part by many internal challenges and crises that have been for many years kept under the hood of false pretense and liberalist propaganda carried by several cultural vectors and means of diffusion. These pretense spread the illusion of wealth as accessible by everyone and fame as the peak of success in the American Society.

The continental size of the United States have kept every news and reality mixed given that only few news outlets carried information and display the reality happening in regions that remained distant as territory but close as main cultural expressions.

The news that could cover the entire continent of the United States without alteration remained the diffusion of the weather, the sport channels, the music, the movies and comedian shows and the programing of what I called ideological brain watch which are about the Rich and the Famous and how to become one of them.

Within such ideological and cultural environment, President Trump is not just running for a second term elections but he is also running against the clock trying to circumvent the impeachment proceeding by reaching and hitting milestones at the level of foreign policy in its all forms of expression and development.

President Trump’s race is conditioned by the impeachment given that national policy is actually dominated by the drive of the Democrats to counter President Trump and to blast stigmate of abuse of power and breaking the law that according to their accusations, Trump as seating President has used this position to influence and impose his own personal political interest in the first place while damaging and eroding the US national interest during a crucial time of confrontation and instability that are marquing the relation of Ukraine with Russia.

To quote from the articles of impeachment: “President Trump has demonstrated that he will remain a threat to national security and the Constitution if allowed to remain in office.”

Architects of the US Constitution established the concept of removing the president from office, through the authority of Congress, on grounds of “treason, bribery, and high crimes and misdemeanours”.

Definitions of “treason, bribery, and high crimes and misdemeanours”. were not explicitly defined within the Constitution, appearing to give Congress a broad ability to interpret and determine impeachable offences.

Strictly speaking, the Constitution references impeachment in just four sections, as follows:

In Article I, Section 2, Clause 5: “The House of Representatives … shall have the sole Power of Impeachment.”

In Article I, Section 3, Clause 6 and 7: “The Senate shall have the sole Power to try all Impeachments. When sitting for that Purpose, they shall be on Oath or Affirmation. When the President of the United States is tried, the Chief Justice shall preside: And no Person shall be convicted without the Concurrence of two-thirds of the Members present. Judgment in Cases of Impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from Office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honour, Trust or Profit under the United States; but the Party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to Indictment, Trial, Judgment and Punishment, according to Law.”

In Article II, Section 2: The president “shall have power to grant reprieves and pardons for offenses against the United States, except in cases of impeachment.”

In Article II, Section 4: “The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.” Source

The impeachment inquiry into Donald J. Trump, the 45th President of the United States, uncovered a months-long effort by President Trump to use the powers of his office to solicit foreign interference on his behalf in the 2020 election.

As described in this executive summary and the report that follows, President Trump’s scheme subverted U.S. foreign policy toward Ukraine and undermined our national security in favor of two politically motivated investigations that would help his presidential reelection campaign.

The President demanded that the newly-elected Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky, publicly announce investigations into a political rival that he apparently feared the most, former Vice President Joe Biden, and into a discredited theory that it was Ukraine, not Russia, that interfered in the 2016 presidential election.

In response, President Trump engaged in an unprecedented campaign of obstruction of this impeachment inquiry. Nevertheless, due in large measure to patriotic and courageous public servants who provided the Committees with direct evidence of the President’s actions, the Committees uncovered significant misconduct on the part of the President of the United States.

To compel the Ukrainian President to do his political bidding, President Trump conditioned two official acts on the public announcement of the investigations: a coveted White House visit and critical U.S. military assistance Ukraine needed to fight its Russian adversary.

During a July 25, 2019, call between President Trump and President Zelensky, President Zelensky expressed gratitude for U.S. military assistance. President Trump immediately responded by asking President Zelensky to “do us a favor though” and openly pressed for Ukraine to investigate former Vice President Biden and the 2016 conspiracy theory.

In turn, President Zelensky assured President Trump that he would pursue the investigation and reiterated his interest in the White House meeting.

Although President Trump’s scheme intentionally bypassed many career personnel, it was undertaken with the knowledge and approval of senior Administration officials, including the President’s Acting Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, and Secretary of Energy Rick Perry. In fact, at a press conference weeks after public revelations about the scheme, Mr. Mulvaney publicly acknowledged that the President directly tied the hold on military aid to his desire to get Ukraine to conduct a political investigation, telling Americans to “get over it.”

President Trump and his senior officials may see nothing wrong with using the power of the Office of the President to pressure a foreign country to help the President’s reelection campaign. Indeed, President Trump continues to encourage Ukraine and other foreign countries to engage in the same kind of election interference today. However, the Founding Fathers prescribed a remedy for a chief executive who places his personal interests above those of the country: impeachment.

Accordingly, as part of the House of Representatives’ impeachment inquiry, the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, in coordination with the Committees on Oversight and Reform and Foreign Affairs, were compelled to undertake a serious, sober, and expeditious investigation into whether the President’s misconduct warrants that remedy.

As required under House Resolution 660, the Intelligence Committee, in consultation with the Committees on Oversight and Reform and Foreign Affairs, has prepared this report to detail the evidence uncovered to date, which will now be transmitted to the Judiciary Committee for its consideration.
